Here's a love token made from a rare 1853-D gold dollar (original mintage 6,583). Although I've seen a few other love tokens made from Dahlonega gold pieces, this example is the only one that I've had an opportunity to buy in my 34 years as a coin collector. The photography is courtesy of BluCC.
