Interesting conversation I just had with the PO

regarding shipments that say they have been received at the sort facility many days ago, but
have no other notations and have not shown up at the destination.
I'm in Vegas so this may not apply to you. I don't know.
My Priority box went to the sort facility here. It got processed and immediately went to the airport
for shipment. It was loaded on a commercial flight and that's where it's stuck. It appears that when
a flight has a problem and get's returned to the hanger, the baggage for the customers
is off loaded, but not the mail. So, until that plane gets fixed there it sits. If the plane will be out
of service for an extended period they will then offload the mail.
I asked the PO person how she knows this and she said she has worked the airport for USPS.

I'm always slightly impressed that gas comes out of the pump, electricity is usually on, and that you can go just about anywhere in the country and get clean water right out of the tap. Imagine what havoc it caused when an ocean freighter FULL of gold just failed to show up.
