My first instinct was 58...but I'm no expert on these and the flatness I think I'm seeing could be a result of the strike and die wear.

66+ could go 7..Great strike and eye appeal.

I see a touch of stike weakness and the streaky rev toning keep this to a 65 for me.

Looks like virtually full fresh rich frost and resultantly expected lustre. Better rinse job after dipping would have been helpful, but result is acceptable.

Full strikes are easily found and this one rates as B, not B+. The braid knot is not full, and missing tail detail is also from strike, as is lack of depth on the bushy areas of the buffalo.

Is that a vertical hairline between the legs? Micro-tick nose?

I see a texture change in the color on the back shoulder/hip of Black Diamond too.

Acceptable in an MS64 holder because it relatively inexpensive. If it were a Seated coin the discoloration would not so easily tolerated.

I would not sell it to a collector in a 65 holder. I wouldn't want it back.

Looks to be a 64-65 with slight weakness on the reverse and obverse the knot on the Indian seems to be weak. It's very tough to grade any coin from images. The luster rules the roost when grading these coins and it's hard to pick it up when imaging. Nice Buff!!

Nice luster but the strike is average. I'd grade it 64.

I guess I'm on the outside looking in because I see impaired luster and am thinking 62 .... maybe 63.

Thanks for all the opinions. I thought it might be a tad undergraded. We'll see... image

Well, so much for grading via images. I have to assume that the ANACS graders saw something -- light friction,
impaired luster, etc. I took another look at the images and can't see it myself. If it was graded AU-55, you could
argue that it was a typo, and they meant MS-65, but that doesn't work with AU-58.

    Humbling, to say the least.

This is one of those deals where ya need to tilt the coin to & fro to see the break in the luster. Grading from images just doesn't cut it. I will say that your 1915 is a very nice 58......CHD
