Be proactive when you drive to shows and wherever you go in your vehicle
with coins. I've posted before on units that go into pick up trucks but how
about checking this out for your SUV? SUV security

I have no interest in the company. Just trying to help...

Yeah but they could steal the whole car.
  • Also when leaving a show, check under your tire to see if anyone has put nails or tacks..
they follow you for an hour untill you get a couple flats then procede to "help you"....

If I were a thief, I would use the same crow bar that I used to get into the SUV, to then pry open the all aluminum box inside. Aluminum is very soft and bends easily. JMHO

In a parking lot at McDonalds you would break into a SUV and then start bashing on the 1/8" aluminum
boxes hoping to get in and get out quick, without being noticed? Don't think so. These may not be so
secure that they cannot be gotten into, but they are secure enough that a theif would not do it in public,
    so to speak.

What method do you use? Care to share a better way?

  • A better way would be to pack a sandwich in advance and not stop for fast food.

It would work for concealing inventory but wouldn't stop the car from getting driven off.

Ahhh..but that would make far too much sense.

today,s newer cars with the transponder style keys are extremely complex to start without the smart keys. Most car thefts of cars made after 2007 will either have to have a duplicate coded key, or a tow truck. The boxes wouldn't stop either. That being said, they are sure as heck a lot more secure than some glass. Oh and I second the pack a sandwich comment. Or at least use the drive through.

I wrote in another thread like this about having the idea of a secured lockbox mounted in the vehicle somewhere out of sight. Crooks that want to do a smash-n-grab job don't want to attract attention to themselves by spending time trying to figure out how to get in a metal safe-like structure, especially when you're parked in a public place.

Another security measure would be signing up for OnStar (or something similar). True, the lockbox wouldn't do any good if the crooks wanted to steal your vehicle, but OnStar could disable the vehicles motor and track it via GPS.
