Frustrated as hell with new eBay page format. Help!

I'm racking my brain trying to locate functionality that used to exist on eBay, but now appears to have gone *POOF* with the latest redesign. Hopefully I'm just being obtuse and they've just moved it around rather than eliminating it entirely.

Prior to this new layout, if you ran a search (or had a saved search) in a subcategory, or you drilled down to a deep subcategory, and you wanted to move up a category level while retaining the current search keywords and settings, there was a nice dropdown list at the upper right, next to the search bar, that allowed you to navigate up the category hierarchy with a single click.

It appears that there is no way to move up category levels any more; you have to start over from scratch entirely.

Or am I missing something?

Between this change and the removal of wildcards, it appears that they don't want buyers any more...

I agree as I thought ot was just me.

I don;t like the fact that I now have to go directly to the shipping and payments before I can see what the shipping is.

But then, you know the old saying...............

If it ain't broke..........change it until it does break! It creates JOBS!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Shame we can't leave feedback for Ebay.

You can still select the 'buy it now' but you have to scroll down the left hand column and select a button. Not very convenient.

You know this sort of thing has to be bad for sellers.

Buyers get frustrated and give up their surf.

I phone it. There trying to make it all work better with the hand held devices.

As if people need to see a 2000x2000 image of a coin on a 2x2 screen to decide if they want the coin.

Yup, they changed everything on the left hand side of the page. I used the advance search
and can do all the old things easy enough. Just more hoops to trip threw.

i see a tab on my ebay page "tell us what you think" if the goal of the new format was to confuse and frustrate the ebay member, it is a job well done. i loved it when i could search my for sale items for specifics, got too used to that as its no longer an available function.

If I do a search and try to scroll the page on eBay it only moves an item or two then freezes for a second or two. Wastes too much time trying to search so I do much less searching and much less buying then I use to do.

It never use to do that. I only have this problem on eBay. Works fine on this site and other sites.

Anytime I call eBay,,,,, they can't answer the question but promise to call back. They never do. Even when you tell the next person you were promised a return call and then they promise to call back but I have never gotten a return call or the problem fixed.

Guess I will continue to sell thru Great Collections. Much easier then messing with eBay. And their pictures are better than mine.

That is for sure. I prefer to search for coins that only have bids to avoid looking at
coins with unrealistic starting bids. I can still use that on my saved searches but no longer have
the ability to create a new search for only coins with x-xxx bids.

The $50 minimum fee went to $100 and now is based on a complicated and more expensive formula.

In a way, these 2 fee increases seem to have slightly pushed up the premium on common coins
such as MS62 Saints as the seller has to get more to realize the same net.
