Canadian Blacksmifh Token Wood 29, struck on a 26 mm 3.0 Gram planchet. A muleing of two discarded HTT dies and hand struck somewhere in lower Canada c. 1838. Only part of the planchet was actually between the dies when the hammer came down. There is heavy cupping on the obverse, the same as seen on related varieties no doubt by ths same unknown maker. This is an R7 piece and actually is one of the nicest! One very curious thing is that XRF analysis of the metallic composition shows these pieces to be an extradionarily pure copper.
