I have a certain coin cert number but can't find any auctions or possible owner....any suggestions?

I have had my eye on a certain PCGS graded coin. I know the cert number and it is listed but does not appear in any
registries. I have wanted this coin for years. I have looked through all major auction houses with no success. Anyone have any ideas?
I thought maybe I can give a phone call to PCGS and give them the cert number and ask if they can find the owner and give them
my contact information.....thoughts?
I also thought to contact certain people that deal in the series...maybe they will have leads?
Any and all suggestions welcome.

i'll add, it is not in registry, 100% - since you cannot add a coin in registry if it is already added
not in the most popular auction archives
can't track cert number to an order due to the cert numbers being off - this means when you see pcgs graded 25mil coins, but the most recent orders show well over 26million, something is off and makes searching a bit more intensive and inaccurate.

I am not aware that this is a service that PCGS provides.

As an Auditor, I would put the set number into cert finder and change the last digit and search for coins with the same or similar cert numbers. Try and find the coins submitted with it. Then try and see where those owners got thier coins. You may find the coin came from a dealer or collector's submission. Then try and track that person down. They may or may not know where it went.
Most likely a dealer had it slabbed and sold it in an arms length transaction. Maybe they can broker a deal with you to get that exact coin.
But this may be a big waste of time if you don't get any hits. Plus, I doubt many dealers keep the names of customers and cert numbers together, if they even record the transaction details precisely.

<< <i>You're going to have to share the cert. number with a major player in the market for the coin you want, and perhaps they'll be able to bird-dog it for you. PCGS won't be of much help in brokering a sale, which is probably for the best, as it opens them up for conflicts of interest. If the coin isn't in a registry, then the owner probably isn't looking online for potential buyers, either. >>
That's pretty much as I thought
Oh well....as they say, if it was meant to be it will happen

<< <i>Wait. What? You've had your eye on a certain PCGS coin. Just where did you have your eye on it last? Can't you try to trace it from where you last saw it? The OP made no rational sense. >>
I was researching a coin I own and while looking through CoinFacts a few years back I saw a coin that I really liked.
I have done all types of searches via auctions and so forth but never had any luck.
I thought someone here might have some ideas as to how someone can locate a coin by its cert number.

<< <i>Have you ever thought the coin might have been cracked and is no longer trackable as the lable might have been destroyed? >>
I don't think they would do it to this one as I am amazed that its slabbed
And I LOVE wild and crazy toning. I feel it NT but I don't see it being cracked out whatsoever.
