Is there someone who is willing to sell a collection for me?

I have to say, I have just about had it with Ebay. I need to sell my collection, but I don't necessarily need the risk involved in actually losing part of it to overseas shipping issues. So I guess the question is, is there someone who would either handle sales of small personal collections or just buy them out at a reduced price?

Like I say, I could use the money now and would rather have a trusted person with more experience/exposure to deal with it if possible.

*disclaimer - I've had great experiences here on CU for the most part, and appreciate all who I've dealt with.

Have you (or anyone here) used his service? I thought about sending him a note but wanted to hear how well you guys liked selling this way.

I haven't personally but have considered it, since all I've ever heard is that he's great to work with.

You can trust him blindly - know him over 10 years already - just a pleasure to deal with, and a first class guy.

Jeremy's auctions are well run, and he has a ready following of bidders each week. I've had him sell my material in the past and would not hesitate to do so again.

  • Well, that's good enough for me then. I'll shoot him a PM in a little bit and get the details.

    Thanks guys!

I must say that I'm sorry to see you're consolidating and also eliminating the jeton site. Your threads and the site have been very interesting, well writen and useful to a casual collector (me) and I really appreciate the info you shared. I shamelessly copied what I could so it'd still be available to me. Always hate to see a specialist pull in their horns, as it were, since very selfishly I learn so much from them. On the other hand I can relate to what you're doing, at least a little bit, several very significant "life event" changes over the last few years have me also questioning what I've collected and considering if its not time to focus more than in the past. I for one would appreciate hearing how things go with you, to help guide the steps I should consider. My daughter has the collecting gene (Wedgwood jasperware and specialities she inherited from my spouse) and I think is very good but she can't dispose of the extraneous stuff as well as me so guess its time to get started.

Thanks again for all of your contributions and sharing and best of luck in your sales!

Well, to tell you the truth, I copied all of the webpages and put them in a word document for safekeeping, too. Maybe I can start it up again once everything settles down around here. I really enjoyed putting the site together and hearing from other collectors or people with questions about jetons.

I'm pretty sure I won't be stepping away fully from collecting, but a hiatus is probably best now that I'm fully engaged in college. Books, tuition, etc. along with also having a kid in his senior year of college is becoming quite the undertaking just to keep up with it all.

I'm glad I was able to provide a little info and some exposure for my area of interest. You guys have helped me immensely too in deciding on a focus and then sticking to it. Maybe this will just be a short break and I can at least stay in the game in a small way....I hope so. Oh, and I'm keeping a few favorites from my collection, so I have a start on my next collection. image
