i know this doesn't answer your question but the Hawaii Five-0 coin has a cert of : 5050505-050 LOL - if it is still in that holder - not a 3 prong

also have an image of the finest known in a pcgs yellow label holder with a cert of: 2823063 - if it is still in that holder with a cac - not a 3 prong

2 of 5 but I cannot answer the question about the walton specimen, grrrr

I saw the Hawaii Five-O NGC cert. coin. that was pretty nifty what they did with it! I am sure someone will come along and have the answer I am looking for!

I do! I owned the Hawaii 5-O coin at the time - there was a private reception held before the show and Dwight Manley attended - he owned the Eliasberg coin then. Later, the coins were moved to the convention center and the Walton coin was certified that evening!

I remember the big announcement the morning the show opened that the fifth coin was there, reuniting the group again.

So....did they make him pay the $200 walk through fee or was it free? Just curious.

I recall going through the exhibits and seeing the five coins with my then fiancé who was dutifully impressed with several million dollars worth of coins only a few feet away!!!! she didn't have any interest in walking the floor with me or meeting any of you guys, but she spent almost two hours with the displays.

I knew then that she was keeper!!!image

They paid them $10k. I recall being a bit miffed at the time because nobody asked if they could use my coin in the verification process. Considering the security issues, at least asking was appropriate.

Pay who? It wasn't holdered, it was certified as authentic by a group not a particular company.

How come it was ungraded today - is there going to be a ceremony??

it looks like there is a shield certification insert on/in the large holder, so it may stay like that.

I can't say I was a fan of the display box that the nickel was in at fun. The nickel was so far from the edge of the box that you darn near needed binoculars to see the date on the coin. I understand the need for a secure box but I think they could have done much better with the display. There are a ton of different ways to accomplish this but that is probably for another thread.

Like a virtual reality helmet and glove. How long would the line have been for that? And charge a nickel to boot!

  • I had a piece at FUN to sell, MF told me to take it to Todd, I didn't believe how much they offered for it ( it was less than I paid at a HA auction, but a very good % ) He was as pleasant as could be for a piece that was less than a couple thousand dollars.
