Potato Cleaning - After Photo 1812 Large Cent

I came across a badly corroded 1812 Large Cent and thought I would try to see how a Potato would affect the surfaces. I know, I know, its cleaned but considering the condition before hand, this actually looks good.
I cannot find my before photos, sorry.
This has been through 3 potatos and I think I might try to another 1 or 2 to see if it would do any better. But I am not hopeful as the second potato seemed to have little effect.

Maybe I should try Reds, Yellows, etc? Perhaps I can get it in a holder that say Red Potato Veggie Cleaned?

<< <i>Don't waste any more potatoes on that coin. If you want to play with this coin some more, try a very long soak in mineral oil or olive oil but I'm afraid this coin is a lost cause. >>

+1.....maybe you can wear down those badly corroded surfaces to Fine+ detail, then let it try and recolor a bit naturally over time.
Old timers with less patience would have burnished it and then hit it with Deller's Darkener (or worse!).

Good suggestion. It would make a neat pocket piece.

Does anyone think that Miss Liberty looks a lot like Miss Potato Head?
I wonder if leaving it for several days might help?
When I started this I was not trying to restore a coin but to try something that I had read about on these boards. The coin has nice detail but I agree it is mostly lost.
I guess I was just wondering how 'good' I could get it to look.
