  Don't know what PCGS would say, but I wouldn't find it acceptable in a graded holder.

  IMO it would BB for a scratch? or damaged.

  Even if it weren't in such a focal point on the coin (like the fields), it's still a pretty deep hit, and shouldn't be in a numerically-graded holder. IMHO.

  Damage to obv center of a half dollar I'd say BB 99% of the time. And even if you got the 1 out of 100 score, no buyer in their right mind would give you VF/XF money for the coin.

  If the half were 50 years older it might grade. But I don't think this one will.

  BB on that also. The fact the scratch passed through the shield and into parts of the drapery makes it a real significant ding.

  Sure is ashamed about the gouge as it really has that nice circ cam look.

  Definite BB. I've had coins BB'ed over much less serious marks.
