Dave has been great to deal with throughout the years. I've gotten some high quality Seated Liberty Dollars from him, including this one...

Great dealer...always spoke the truth, and his coins were very reasonably priced.
Not to mention his great knowledge of the CBH series.
Here's a pair of 1827 CBH's I recently bought from Dave....he gave me a super deal to boot.

I wish Dave all the best in his "retirement."
When I met him at the Baltimore show, I told him he looks like a Colorado resident. He has that mountain climber build for sure! image

One of the nicest half dimes in my collection, a PCGS AU-50 1853-O No Arrows, came from Dave Olmstead, and remains one of the high points in my collection. I always found Dave to be very fair, honest, and willing to deal. I wish him well in his future endeavors. His presence in this hobby will be missed.

Just send him an email asking to invoice me for one of his coins. Reasonably priced coin. Thanks for this thread! image

A coin I bought from David about 5 years ago and still own....

As others have said I found him to be a fair and honest dealer whose inventory I always enjoed looking at.

    Best to you David!

One of my best CBH's came from Dave. That's too bad. I hope retirement is good to him.

It was a pleasure doing business with Dave. I offer my best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement!

Here is a coin that I purchased from Dave: a very rare "Tall D" variety of the 1841-D half eagle, graded PCGS XF40, from the Harry Bass Collection. Harry bought the piece in Abe Kosoff's Alex Shuford Collection, May 1968, Lot 2053.

Best wishes in your retirement Dave.

I remember buying a very nice 1889-O PCGS ms64 Morgan from you which I traded to a board member here. He consigned it thru Heritage auctions where you bought it and put it back up on your website and I nearly bought it back again.

I was wondering if he was packing it in...the sites been shrinking for quite awhile, oh well.
I still have a good number of very nice coins aquired from Dave, mostly via fairly large and very fair trades.

I very much enjoyed doing business with Dave. We'll be lucky to find someone like him.

Dave is a good guy. No wonder his normally outstanding selection of CBHs has been so thin for the last few months.
