ORdered a coin on eBay a week ago.. USPS tracking said "out for delivery" in my local area on Saturday but the parcel never showed up as it was due to arrive in my box. It was shipped by the seller with delivery confirmation + signature confirmation. A day after, USPS.com's tracking system when the tracking # is typed in shows: Delivery Status not Updated
and that's that. Stolen??
Called PO today and they seem dumber than doornails on the issue. "Duhh, I can ask Al and see what he says Duhh.." "Duhhh, I put a note on the carrier's desk.. Duhh"
A bunch of dopes I deal with !!
Anyway, this was bought on eBay, so am I covered under their buyer protection program? It's so grey area'd these days I can never tell which is what and what is which when it comes down to their policy.

I forgot to add this but the delivery status said, "Out for Delivery" on Saturday. That usually means the parcel or the pink notice will be in the box that day.
For example, if you live in a complex where there are only so many keyed large boxes for packages (where the postman leaves the key to that box in your personal smaller mailbox) it could easily be there were too many packages delivered and thus your package will need to wait. Not that it isn't deliverable, just there are not enough
boxes to place yours in.

That's one of the fake scans they use to keep the delivery times correct. It is in a bin at the post office they will sort it and deliver it either today or tommorrow.
Governments can print currency. Only the people can print faith in it — and they’re running low on ink.
Funny thing is that tracking showed that it was "delivered" to the wrong address weeks prior.
Oh, those wacky Iraqis.

This exact situation happened to me last time as well and it showed up the next day. Don't worry about it, wait a few days and contact your local postmaster. I think the USPS starts delivering again today, but I may be wrong.
<< <i>This is the weakest "Horror Story" I have ever read. >>
Agree. It's more like "another day at the post office" story.

Probably delivered to the wrong address and never scanned.
It happened the same to me few months ago, a silver bar never made to me.
Seller refunded promptly but the package hasn't showed up!
Good luck!
He told me there was not enough room in his vehicle for the rest.
Today it didn't show show and tracking shows "Missent". That's a new one!

Just experienced my first "Missent" as my parcel was delivered to another Post Office 50 miles away...
It just sat there for 3 days in limbo until it arrived on the 4th.

It is not new to anyone who does a lot of shipping.

<< <i>Only USPS Express Mail is trackable. >>
only USPS Express Mail is promised to be trackable. USPS doing a pretty good job of showing tracking on other methods that have a trackable number.

<< <i>Don't worry. Service will improve when they raise rates at the end of January
Now that's funny. I think the congress and senate members also get a raise on Jan 1, so they will obviously also show improved performance don't you think?
There is always hope .....
After 63 years, U.S. Postal Service delivers calendar
A mail carrier, with no explanation of where the package had been the last 63 years, handed it to ....
The PO is okay in my book.
<< <i>the situation turned out to be a little more heavier than we thought. i spoke to the supervisor at my local post office who scanned the coin in and basically he says he asked everyone who was involved with this mail route and nobody knows. he says it's probably best to inform the sender that it's lost mail. what a shame , i was hoping this coin would come before christmas too. >>
Exact same thing my supervisor said as well. When it says "Out for Delivery" that means the parcel must be scanned by the mail carrier and placed on his truck. It showed up.
