I started to build a set by hundreds of years, from Lydian gold to a UHR, but ended up backing off of it as I became too interested in Roman gold and haven't managed to move past it!

The plural of century is centuries.
    When in doubt, don't.

I think it is 1700's 1800's 1900's 2000's. 4 centuries before you have to go to the dark side.

I think I have 10 different centuries. I was working on a gold set of the last 20 centuries. I think I may have to settle for silver in the end.

    Happy holiday's

that is a really cool set.

I saw something similar at a local coin shop that was commercially done that had 20 centuries of coins (one from each of the last 20 centuries). Would be much more fun to do it yourself though!

If you want to count only dated coins, that begins in 1234 with the Roskilde Denier.

Not dated but I have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th (bronzes and silver coins), 6th (gold solidus of Justin II), 13th, 14th, 18th - present centuries.
I never thought of a 'set' of one from each century.
That's all I need is another way to collect. image

    Congrats on 1K!

edit to say ....Oh, and 4th century B.C., Phillip II and Alexander III (the Great)bronzes.

There are dated coins that predate 1234.

Coins of the Western Kshatrapa have dates on the obverse behind the king's head in Brahmi numerals. These dates are reckoned in the Saka era, inn which year zero is in the year 78
They're not expensive coins, even in silver. I have one from the third century.
