My exhaust pipes on my old cars are made out of aluminized steel.

    Canada uses nickel-plated steel.
Just copy them and get it over with.

After a "thorough and meaningful" research and development study that took nearly two years to complete with an outside consultant, the US Mint has indicated that additional work is required before recommendations can be made for any specific changes in coin composition of methods of coin production.

Good Lord. That's it. The initial study requires more study. Can it be any more inefficient? Any more wasteful? Enough already.

The speed at which the government decides to continue devaluing the dollar is a major determining factor in identifying materials practical for coinage. I'm not sure how additional study is going to help here.

Well, perhaps it might be a good idea to take some additional time to make sure any change in metallic content of our coinage will function properly in many thousands of existing vending machines, parking meters, etc. etc. Especially when it is highly desirable to also keep the existing supply of coins working properly in the same machines.

Looks like future testing will include a production-quantity run. Maybe some specimens will sneak out of the mint. image
