I thought PCGS does not charge your CC until they actually grade your coins

tydyetydye Posts: 3,894 ✭✭✭
I just got done listening to my wife complain to me about two charges. I have two submissions in for total of 69 coins. My CC was charged upon receipt of the coins. For some reason I thought that you did not get charged until the coins were graded.

I generally pay by check, but the few times that I have paid by credit card, they have hit the charge upon receipt of the coins.

Nope - paid in full every month. But between this and Christmas presents it looks like I will be drinking PBR for the rest of the month

Dude! My checks go through upon receipt of the coins as well. If your coins for some reason cannot be graded or gennied or whatever and they have to not charge you for part of your order, they REFUND you.

I am sure that is right just bad timing on my part for a submission. Trying to beat the 2012 deadline before the price hike. I have one more submission of about 50 world coins. Looks like I will be holding off on them and paying the 2013 rates

And like it makes any difference at all.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

they want to be sure CC is good and they want to get paid before performing their service.

If you don't like the grades you could always dispute the charge with your CC company. image

Whenever I have paid with a credit card, they ALWAYS charge the card upon receipt of the order. Same with the PSA folks. Once they get your order in the system, they charge your credit card. I don't know why they would charge after the fact. Seems to me that they want to make your your funds are good before they do all the work.

Yes, I do, and I will be doing it when I go home over the holidays. I am quite anxious for it, too.

    Ditto here.

They charge as soon as your submission is received. It says this on the invoice.
