Asking for help for a YN!

I'm posting this on behalf of a YN from the New York City area I met at ANA Summer Seminar several years ago, Jonah Estess. Jonah is a senior at the NYC iSchool, which requires each senior to do a "Senior Project" in order to graduate. Jonah's project is an exhibit and presentation on Civil War Tokens.

In order to get the funds to put together to gather the materials needed to put together a professional quality presentation and exhibit, he is using a "crowd funding" site (similar to Kickstarter). He hopes to raise $800 and is about 25% of the way there currently. The link to his site can be found here.

As I've said, Jonah has been an active YN, both within the New York City area and nationwide. He has attended multiple ANA Summer Seminars (on scholarship), attended several ANA conventions and has done an internship at the American Numismatic Society. Any help you could offer him would be most appreciated by me (and even more so by him!). A donation of even $5 or $10 would be appreciated.

If there are any questions for Jonah, please post here or message me and I will get a response from him.

Many thanks,
Greg

    Hi, Greg,
I made a modest contribution to the fund. I wish Jonah success for the project.

Thank you RYK! I've donated as well (I'd feel like an idiot to ask for a donation without making one myself!).

I mentioned to Jonah that he's already received a donation from my post and he is speechless.

Donation sent. I can't think of anything better this time of year than giving a YN some support in a great project like this.

As a YN when i started studying coins and a lover, collector and dealer in Civil War tokens, I think this is a wonderful project and I am happy to be able to contribute to the fund.

Also, as a collector and dealer of CWTs I also would be happy to "lend" a couple of pieces towards the exhibit if necessary. Maybe you could pass that along. I don't know exactly what he would be looking for but I'm sure there are some others on the board that will read this and agree to help.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Greg!

    Thanks for the post, Greg.

Jonah was a student of mine at the ANA Summer Seminar several years ago. Bright, motivated and curious, this special young man, and his scholarship, are worthy of encouragement. Contribution made.image

I find CWT fascinating, and a YN to boot. Best of luck! Donation made.

I saw that, too. When I made my contribution, the account had about $200 in it. This thread sure gave him a boost. Good job, Greg.

From the looks of it though, if one desires, donations can continue to be made, which he may be able to put to use for his project.

I have to tell you Jonah was in shock this morning when he found his project fully funded. I will make sure that updates (and hopefully photos / video of the project) are made available for all to see.

Also, thanks to Todd's generous offer of help regarding photography / imaging. I have passed that along to Jonah if needs any help.

Many thanks to all of you! This is what makes this a community rather than just a message board.

P.S. Anyone want to help fund my re-election campaign to the ANA Board? (Just kidding!)
