Seller accepted my offer of $82.00. I don't think he knew what he had.

Looking for PCGS AU58+ 1901-P, 1896-O, & 1894-O
as common as the 57 is, even in 67, is this really a cherry? i don't know the top pop for this year and too lazy to look it up!

In the NGC holder, not a huge cherry, but if it can cross at grade with our hosts, the original asking price would have been a low enough asking price for a 'rip'. He obviously had no idea about the 'B' reverse (seems alot don't....). The '57 is the most 'common' in MS67 with 11 graded now (at PCGS). There is only 1 other date with a single 67, besides the '57, and that is a single '62, and worth big $$ (I know of another '62 in PCGS MS67, and is unattributed). An even dozen might perhaps drag the price down more than where it's at, now. One has to remember the differences in realized prices between the 'clear' holder, and the 'white' one...some are big differences, especially varieties, which is why it needs to cross at grade. Good luck with crossing. These NGC 67's really need to cross at grade, but with almost a dozen graded already, there's more out there, at least for the '57's. There were alot in mint sets, and how many mint sets are sitting in closets or boxes right now?
edited as I had a few words misspelled (did I spell misspell correctly? don't want to edit it again, after a whole day). Also, I did want to say that, Harvey, I look for these all the time, and unless my still young eyes are going, I don't know how I miss some of the ones you find. I never find them at shows, and always (but once) find them in lower MS grades at some shops, but they are marked on the 2X2 as Type B, and they ask moon money, so some dealers are aware. Had I seen the coin, Harvey, you might have not gotten it...I might have taken a chance......early on, my NGC's wouldn't come close to crossing. I have had 2 tough ones (a '56 and a '58) cross at grade (both MS66) that became pop-tops. Though, I think it would be extremely difficult to cross an MS67 at grade.
Funny thing is, '56, '57 and '58's (total graded) have over 100 MS67's each (wonder how many of those are unattributed B's....there's actually one '56 in MS68...I wonder how long ago it was holdered, could it be a 'B'???), but from '59 on, MS67's are all in the single digits (but the '62), suggesting MS66 Type B's, for the years that have single digit MS67's, are always going to be top pops. The '59 has 3, '60 has 9, '61 has 3, '62 has 12 (with one MS67 attributed, and, as I said, one that isn't attributed...yet), '63 has 7, '64 has 8....how many of those do you suppose are B's? I'm thinking not many at all, if any (just an informed guess, as I haven't physically seen them, but with single digit graded MS67's, chances are small there are any sitting, waiting to get cherried.
I did get a confirmation today that the dealer shipped my 1957 NGC MS67 piece (unattributed Rev
Nice Coin at a great price...
But, good for you.
before I actually have it in my hand....
I shouldn't even post a link...
Good Advice....

Ain't that the truth!
I suppose I should go dig it out of the dafe and see if it's higher than average grade?
It sounds like those have the lowest population?

If it could grade an MS66, it's a good one, anything lower........there are 69 in MS65, 9 in MS66. If it doesn't 66, the cost of grading/attribution/shipping may not be worth it.
