Just added a high grade Blacksmith Copper, Wood 14
One of the "big boys" sold a few Blacksmith on eBay tonite to heavy bidding and snipe programs at work. I bought two, a Wood 18 and Wood 14, which is a piece I had my eye on as soon as it was listed. Now we know the detail intended to be shown on the coin is very limited. These were intended to go from the coin press to general circulation mixing in with worn coppers from George II and George III, and lightweight brass imported merchant tokens. Absolutely no Blacksmiths except one was saved in uncirculated condition, so grading is a combination of struck detail and surface. This Wood 14 has wear, the reverse figures arms are slightly flat, they are the high points of the coin. The surfaces however are very clean with a faint backdrop of nicks and tics. It's an R3 piece I give this a VF+

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

I was thinking the same thing---a little dude.
Your collection is coming together very quickly. Wish I could say the same about mine.

Hey....that's what it's all about!
In all seriousness, congrats on your NEWP.
