Check out this Hair Pin luster bomb. I found this raw at a shop last week.
I don't know what to do about the milky spots but wow, this coin really has some blinding luster.

I rarely have much luck seeing much of a difference with acetone baths unless I'm stripping paint off of silver eagles.
I don't own any dip and I'm reluctant to use anything that damaging. I was thinking maybe these spots were from
a previous dip with a poor rinse.
so, it may even just look about the same after a soak as it does now.
Most 1922 Peace Dollars with milk spots came directly from the mint that way. Apparently there was an issue with their planchet preparation that year.
I think this VAM is a tremendous pickup, especially raw. I agree with the acetone idea - not for the spots but for some of the other random crud. I would not expect an acetone wash or even a light dip to remove the spots. They seem to be pretty deeply a part of these coins. I'd just enjoy the coin as is, or at most after an acetone bath.
Nice pickup.
I've been meaning to do a little more practicing, but sometimes just get lucky with the light.

Did you notice the awesome die crack across the neck?
My icon IS my coin. It is a gem 1949 FBL Franklin.
WOW..........I would leave it alone..........also it appears to be a 1922-P VAM-2F "Hair Pin"
Pretty coin......very pretty coin.

Thanks for all the comments. It is the 2F Hair Pin variety.
I noticed the die chips at the shop and the coin was priced very reasonably so I picked it up.

Well, you could take a little advice from Devo:
Crack that Dip
Give the past a slip
Step on a crack
Break your momma's back
When a problem comes along
You must Dip it
Before the cream sets out too long
You must Dip it
When something's goin' wrong
You must Dip it
Now Dip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It's not too late
To Dip it
Dip it good
When a good time turns around
You must Dip it
You will never live it down
Unless you Dip it
No one gets away
Until they Dip it
I say Dip it
Dip it good
I say Dip it
Dip it good
Crack that Dip
Give the past a slip
Step on a crack
Break your momma's back
When a problem comes along
You must Dip it
Before the cream sets out too long
You must Dip it

Move ahead
Try to detect it
It's not too late
To Dip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It's not too late
To Dip it
Well, Dip it good
