  I like looking at 1983 cents, a lot of them have only been checked only for the big DDR.

  Great find, and it looks like a nice EDS to boot. That coin is way tougher to find than the DDR, even if it isn't worth quite as much.
  
  I too broke a long dry spell today, I picked a monster variety off eBay, one I'd been searching for forever. The good stuff is still definitely out there if you have the patience (and eyesight ).

  I LOVE the roll searching finds....keeps my hope alive whenever I start to lose faith that I'll ever find anything. As Sean says, patience and a keen eye are essential.
  
  Congrats on a sweet find - I always pocket any '83 - '84 cents that I get for further study at home.....no luck so far, but obviously, they're out there!
