Nasty "bonus" with my latest purchase - a stapled 2x2 packaged with the slab!

Couldn't believe it - and a collectible holder at that!
Hope the scratch remover works.......
Edited to say, AU55 38-D Buff in the 2x2........

hope i didn't do it. i've sent out a lot of bonus coins in my day but i'm pretty certain they are separated in such a way as not to harm anything else in the package

<< <i>Last week I purchased two inexpensive PCGS widgets, and received a bonus of 4 cleaned/dipped lincoln wheat cents in a tiny brown coin envelope. Thought it was quite insulting, so I just put them in my pocket, and out into the wild they went. >>
I fail to see the insult, you did not pay for it, it cost you nothing. I throw in raw proof coins from the 60's, 70's and 80's all the time or lincoln wheats, dateless buffs or similiar. I have never had a person email me back and tell me they were insulted, usually just the opposite. Depending on what i sold you may recieve all types of extras from me from coin boxes, mint envelopes, mint coin bags, articles whatever. Most of my buyers are repeat customers.
Just goes to show that whatever you do someone, somewhere will find a way to complain about it.

So I guess it's safe to assume the staples weren't recessed
Might be worth sending the seller a gentle message so his generosity causes no further damage.

I guess it's true that no good deed goes unpunished. I hope you didn't neg him for insulting you.

That's unusual, I usually get insulted when someone does something bad to me. Years ago I bought some coins from a guy on ebay who sent along a couple heavily worn buffs. I asked him about it and he replied that he always sends along a couple low value coins for free hoping they'll wind up in a little kid's collection. My little nephew, who wound up with the coins wasn't insulted either, he was thrilled.
My icon IS my coin. It is a gem 1949 FBL Franklin.
