$100. spent on a .25c coin. And. . . I'm OK with that!

Got to love this hobby!
Just got back this baby today from PCGS. (Don't everyone be envious at once. . .)

This one will go in a special little box prepared for others proceeding and for sure, others to follow.

i'd put that sucker in a frame and hang it on the wall and have many great conversations about it.
thanks for sharing the full images now that you got her back. some of us were watching your original thread from day 1!
.
Wonder what the graders thought?
Anyone else notice PCGS is using a different insert now? The colors fade from a rich blue above to a light sky blue, below.

Didn't notice till you made note of it. Trying to make it difficult for the slab counterfeiters I would assume.
He who knows he has enough is rich.

I loved the old time overall look of this coin. Just something about it spoke to me and I was hopeful it would land in a FN15 or so slab.
Just for fun- nothing serious, of course.

Missed the earlier thread alluded to and I'm wondering if a clad coin could possibly wear down like that being carrie in a pocket for ten years or so?
I know a silver one could.

To me, that's what collecting is all about!
<< <i>Certainly different

They said OMG What the heck. Nice look, but talk about getting buried.
I agree with determined, that it's often what collecting is all about. There's a few coins that I've saved from the register that have some odd wear patterns and/or just have a neat, interesting look to them. Nothing valuable, just odd and interesting.

Trying to keep up with ANACS, only theirs is yellow
Too bad it's been "gennied", I bet it would have had a PCGS pop of 1.
Ask the errors guys before you grade a coin like that ...
