Colorfully Toned Proofs ... Toning Inside (Original) Mint Sealed Cello

It's interesting when you see coins take on wild and vibrant color inside sealed (original) U.S.Mint cello packaging. I have never seen a blue toned 1964 proof lincoln before -- I have seen that color toning on other years though (especially 1961's), but it's rare on 1964's. It just makes me wonder what might have caused something like this? Impurities in the alloy? I have no idea. Since it was sealed, I have to think that environmental factors would have to have been greatly diminished. (By the way, robec did a stunning job with the photo.) (A final note that this was a "freebie" coin from Shane at KryptoniteComics, one of the top toned coin sellers on eBay ... Thanks Shane!)

Here is another one. A monster toned Jefferson nickel that toned inside the original cello proof set packaging. This is some of the best color that I've ever seen on a Jefferson. And it's interesting to note that none of the other coins in the cello packaging toned, they were all their original mint-fresh color -- just the Jefferson Nickel toned. Why? It's beyond me. (Once again, robec's photo is stunning.)
