I was tracking this and went out on business and forgot to bid on it. I think someone got a super steal. Make sure you take a look at the closeups and tell me what you might think of the coin. It's not in a super old holder, but still not too recent either.

by pcgs standards, i doubt it

by ngc standards, i doubt it

the lighting makes it look a little more frosty than it is, caused by over-exposure of light

the man's got a point, it does have a cameo feel to it and it may have been a real good score under $200. nice pickup! i'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Wish I picked it up! I missed the auction.

Was hoping to draw out the winner so maybe if he resubbed the coin and it came out Cam, we could give him the "you suck"! lol

To me, it looks like it's got some splotchy haze at least on the obverse. The reverse has some frost, but proofs of this era often show much more contrast in photos than in hand due to the effects of multiple lighting angles. With that said, the reverse will be less frosty, and the obverse, which is only partly frosted, will be even less frosty. These coins aren't particularly hard to find, and I don't think this example is anything to write home about, or to despair over having missed out.

be happy you missed that one. Proof dimes have been real weak as of late and that one
appears to be cloudy, hazy, whatever. Most seem to be around $200 or so and that one
at $180 would not have been a steel. As for Cam, I doubt that from those pics. Wait for
another.
