Very, very nice. A date that is tough to find toned at all, but this coin is mind-boggling!

Congratulations on acquiring it again! image

It's always interesting to imagine the storage conditions that resulted in the toning..

so, is this thought to be bag? endroll? album?

    sincerely curious for expert opinions

I'm no toning expert, but if I saw that coin uncertified, I would say 100% AT.

Either way, it looks hella cool!

    ttt alright, let's talk

it's the finest 04-O, it's over a hundred years old, this is the second time you've owned it, when did it first appear? certainly, such a magnificent coin (and it is spectacular, no denying it), must have a long storied pedigree, anyone know how far back it goes? roll was mentioned, also bag, who found this gem and when?

They are just opinions right or wrong from people, sort of like the experts. They fail to agree with each other a lot of times. Standards change and then everything comes back around 360 degrees. I do not post pics of my coins for this very reason ( and the fact i do not know how) and a lot of times a bad picture makes a really nice coin look bad.

AT vs NT has always been a touchy subject since so many clever and smart people exist in this world to help coins achieve the look.

BTW nice coin and the AT never crossed my mind.
