I must be slow on the uptake!

Where is that "smack face" emoticon ?
I bought a raw Capped Bust quarter from a forum member in February. I paid strong money for the date and condition(1819/VF20), and put it in a new holder. Never even thought of attributing it, until tonight. Finding it to be a B-1
(low R5) has me wondering now if the seller knew this as well.

maybe the "strong money" you paid was the seller getting juts a little extra for the marriage?
i know some dealers that will let varieties/marriages go cheap and just take a nice little layer of profit and keep the ball rolling
but you could be correct as well that the seller didn't know
.
here is a link to the emoticon page listing

<< <i>She knew.
Hmmmm ... Board member and a 'she' that sells CBQs ... Yep, I know who that is and she does know her die marriages and rarities.

But why not mention the rarity when selling?

<< <i>Only problem is that the B1 is not an R5 coin and Im sure if you ask other Bust Quarters guys in the know they will agree. In fact, the last B1 1819 S. Tompkins listed on ebay even called it an R4 too. >>
I suppose if you consider Tompkins the only authority on CBQ's, that might be the case. I prefer the opinion of Rea/Peterson/Karoleff/Kovach.
And for those who think the seller is a "she": wrong. She is merely cover for "he".
