Fantasy football and the coin collection

My son (13) is participating in his first fantasy football league this season, and the draft will be carried out, in person, on Monday morning. He is not very knowledgeable about football, is a little anxious about it, and asked for my help. (As it turns out, I am very knowledgeable, so I should be able to assist.)
One evening this week, I sat with him and the pre-ranked list of players on the ESPN FFB site and shuffled players around to my liking. He is drafting in the 10 hole (out of twelve teams), so the top 3 QBs and 3 RBs should be gone, and we are left with questions like, "Should we take the best fantasy QB available--possible Matthew Stafford of Detroit or Cam Newton or a top WR or TE (Larry Fitzgerald or Jimmy Graham)?" How do you compare the relative value to the fantasy team of a WR, TE and a QB? Or, who is the better football player--Stafford, Fitz, or Graham?
Similarly, in the last two seasons, the NFL Network has had an offseason feature ranking the 100 best players.
So what the heck does all of this have to do with coins?
It just so happens that my inlaws are in town this weekend, the vestiges of Isaac are keeping us indoors. I am looking for all sorts of projects to keep busy
, and I thought it would be interesting to rank the slabbed coins in my collection. One reason would be to just go through the exercise, organize what I have, and perhaps find a few that do not fit to sell. Another would be to prepare myself for a potential large purchase which would necessitate some coin sales.
So, what factors will I consider when ranking the coins? Rarity, Historical significance, Value, Fit, Irreplaceability, Sentimental considerations, Registry points, Eye appeal, Grade, Pedigree, Source, Gestalt, Stickers, Photographs, and others that I have not yet considered will no doubt get consideration.

1. Rarity
2. Eye appeal
3. Historical significance
4. Sentimental value
I am not much into fantasy football, so I can't help there. However, your very own Longacre played a fine round recently at historic Winged Foot Golf Club, site of several US Opens and a PGA Championship, and will play in the pro-am at the McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, GA, in October.

Longacre nailed it.
I am tempted to add pedigree as #5 (but this could overlap with historical significance). >>
As far as ranking goes, agree with above.
Selling... Anything that provokes the "big, stupid grin" of hapiness and pride of ownership, gets kept. Everything else, sell.

CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
I was able to get Cam at 18th (someone actually took Romo at 15th).
In a 12 team league, I think I'd rather get one of the top 5 QB's at 10 and try for a 2nd tier RB next (15th pick I assume?). Then go for a top WR (Cruz, Nicks, A.J., Jordy or Wallace) and wait on the TE (I got Jermichael at 63).
I'm a little down on Fitz with his QB situation.
I think I'm much more knowledgeable about FFL than coins!

To answer your fantasy question I'd need to know the scoring system.
As for the coin ranking...
#1 Eye Appeal. For me, personally, a coin that doesn't look good just isn't one I'd want to own!
#2 Condition
#3 Rarity
#4 Historical Significance
#5 Sentimental Value
That's my take on coin collecting anyway.

Not familar with ESPN FF but some leagues reduce QB TDs on top of whether PPR or standard (or some variation of) scoring.
Crackout has a good strategy with pick 10. Newton or Stafford would be a good #1 pick, and I suggest picking the one you both like best and want to cheer for the most on game days! Personally, I like Stafford over Cam but consider my Bucs are in the NFC South.
We just had our draft on Sat for our 12 team keeper league which I've been in for 13 years. You and your son will have lots of fun with FF!
As far as the coin question, Banemorth's ranking fits my current coin criteria. Only wish I had started out that way.
Have fun and good luck!
I would not hesitate to take Stafford at 10.....
At 15 take Gronk or Graham if he is there.....
Here they are...

Every one a "WOWSER" !!!
For my part I would take Longacre's list and put Sentimental Value first and not change the others.
