OT: God bless those dealing with Isaac.
Talked to my cousins in Baton Rouge, LA this morning, unable to contact them now.
Said things were looking grim at 8 a.m., appears they are worse now that it has moved inland.
I would assume there is no power of phone, tried his cell phone, nothing.
Praying they are ok, I'm sure they are. Saw pics of homes under 10-15ft of water.
My problems are minuscule compared to what many are going through on the Gulf Coast.
Prayers going out,
Scott

<<Things like this really put our priorities into perspective.....>>
Here I'm wondering if it will go PL or DMPL and many have lost everything.
God bless em all
who live in that area !!!
First of all, you knowingly KNOWINGLY live below sea level, second of all, you have been warned warned and warned some more. I feel pity for you as humans and prey your fate is kind..............but the definition of insanity is..............

That the stupidest thing I have ever heard Arizona Jack." We chose to live below sea level." I guess this also applies to all that those to live in a earthquake zone, a tornado alley, and areas now
plagued with drought .

Well, Shepard Smith on Fox News said that he does sympathize with the people that a re affected but they were warned just as in Katrina and yet they stayed.
Personally, I wish I could go to LA and help but due to disabilities can't but I do sympathize with them as well and hope that next time they are told to vacate that they heed the news. I suspect rescuer lives were put unnecessarily at risk somewhat evacuating those that remained. May God hold them all in the hollow of His hand and may they recognize it is God-not man who saves.
The eye passed right over us this morning. We are fine but there are others that will need your prayers..

I pray you don't catch skin cancer living out in AZ.
Being in the eye must be odd, as it's calm until the wall pushes through.
Glad to hear you made it, hopefully with minimal damage.

I'll back you up here. Widespread disaster 7 years ago with untold billions in damages and you choose to rebuild even though mother nature just flipped you the bird? Idiocy, and whilst I feel bad for anybody who loses their lives, they should all be nominated for Darwin Awards.
When you have to build something to keep nature out in order for you to live there, maybe you should find a different place to live. >>
People do make crazy decisions about life's choices. Some take the risk and hope for the best. You can still pray for their safety and help them with immediate necessities but I don't know if others should shoulder their material losses. Here are some other crazy choices people make...
1 Smoking
2 Riding a motorcycle on streets without a helmet
3 Living on the San Andreas fault
4 Drinking and driving (that is a crime now)
5 Eating wild mushrooms
6 Climbing Mt Everest
7 Playing with poisonous snakes
8 Having a pet panther

We are all living in something we build in order to live where we are.
They are called houses.
And pretty much unless you live in San Diego you need one of those things to live anywhere in the United States.
<< <i>I second that and hope for the best for all those in harms way. My family and I went through Hurricane Ike and it was a nightmare. >>
I went through Ike too, and I'll certainly second that it was a nightmare. And, I can't stress this enough---beware the scammers!!!!! They will be out and about. Do not fall victim to them! Good luck!
