Having travelled through and around Netherlands more than any other country save maybe Ukraine I really appreciate the various regions. I have had a 17th century Gelderland coin in my collection for many years - curiously Dutch coppers circulated in Scotland because of the shortage of copper in Scotland. I think there must have been some decent 18th century hoards put away because I have seen even red BU examples of the Duits.
Very nice pieces from one of my favourite countries. The beer, the food, the fine art museums are the bomb.
In memory of my kitty Seryozha 14.2.1996 ~ 13.9.2016 and Shadow 3.4.2015 - 16.4.21
Here's another one, but much older. From the reign of Otto II, who ruled over Gelderland from 1229 to 1271. Silver penny struck in Arnhem. Otto II is mostly known for giving city rights to a record number of cities in Gelderland, including Arnhem.
Really nice coins, the blue toning on the first is great, and an MS-66 grade on any 1780s coin is pretty amazing.

I often see them described on eBay, as boxing lions coins
*note: Third coin ,the silver ducat is a very large coin (40mm), compared to the copper doits (22mm) >>
Yeah, I should have put something about size in them. Funny enough the picture of the penny further down is a little bit off, as that is the smallest coin of these.
