1969 Biafra 1 pound and a 1792 barbados

Tough coins to find from this one year country. Now I have two from Biafra.

This is one I have desired since I first sighting. This has iridescent blue around the head and devices, quite pretty in hand. Got them both in a Trade. Anyone else trading rather than buying.

<< <i>I got a double mint set of Biafra coins (lacking the 6d of course!) about 4-5 yrs ago and thought I paid too much at ~310 USD but got nice PL coins of 3d, 1sh, 21/2 shill. and the pound pieces. Like that set a lot.
Congrats on this coin!!! >>
I'll take them off your hands at that price or maybe a trade, if it is still a strain on resources

I don't think I'd have been able to afford it without a trade, nor would his owner have sold it for cash.
The key to trades is to keep some nice dupes instead of selling them, for as long as it takes, you never know when the right trade will present itself.

I am trying to figure out how rare the 6d coins are; can't really respect the one shilling where the denomination is spelled out as I recall. So what is a 6d worth these days?

Has anyone noticed this Syracusian guy collects coins with unusual combinations of letters and symbols?

Especially since the last few sold on eBay were MS63 and MS64 in NGC, or else raw, and averaged $350.
For y'all who have one, if you still own (hey, this is an old thread!) thought you'd like to compare - just remember these are $#*%%& Secure Plus scans!

So which one should I sell / which should I keep?

I was gonna ask the Bozman what happened to the picture of the Barbados copper, then I realized I was looking at a thread from 2009!
If it hadn't been for the number of dead images, I'd have been clueless and went right on chatting away, in a three-year-old conversation.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. I like some of the old threads. In them, Newbiecollector is still alive and with us. Tbirde56 plays Krause quick draw artiste and nails down people's coin IDs in seconds flat, before I can even type my replies.
I miss 'em both. There were some fine times on this forum in the Good Ol' Days.
PS- in answer to your Biafra question, you should sell #1 and keep #2. #1 has spots, and not just on the leopards.
Regarding these old threads (which are filled with valuable information) ... I thought proper etiquette was to search and learn from old threads, rather than start a new thread on a topic which has been covered dozens of times? (or in this case, twice in 2009)
Also, I assumed people went straight to the last page / most recent post and would therefore have responded to my comment instead of reading the original [old] comments. Sorry I guess I was wrong about that.

I was just giving you a hard time. Thread resurrections are fine. And can be fun. (But also confusing, if you're like me and not paying attention to the fact that you're chatting in a seriously old conversation, haha.)
