Well,I know PCGS just graded another one of these in MS66 (pop is now 15),so I bet this was the fifteenth MS66 that PCGS has graded.Amazing Strike.Congrats
The other extraordinary feature of your coin is the absence of any marks.
MS64???? A first generation blue insert holder too. That is a shocker. It either has some hairlines or light wear on the highpoints.

Must be the luster, which can be grade limiting. For whatever reason, 19-Ds often have subdued luster. Either way, you have a prime 64, even if it doesn't upgrade. Thanks for sharing.

The strike seems better than 64 to me. But the tough grade--if it indeed is tough overall--is not off enough to merit 65 if submitted in the holder. On the other hand, I wouldn't have the guts to crack it out. One of those choices that used to give me fits.. Best of luck on the regrade, and thanks for showing.
I admit it - I have a lot of difficulty in grading Buffalos - however - I know that the 1919-D you posted is extremely well struck - has almost blemish free surfaces - [ regardless of the chatter on Liberty ] - I would have thought it was a 65 any day of the week.
The conservatives in the group nailed it - MS 64 - and its got to be the nicest 64 I have ever seen.
Congrats on that pick up !!

Very clean coin. Only flaw I noticed is the tick above the tail.

Having done both 19 D and S date sets in the past I truly love the strike on your Buff!
Your herd is shaping up quite impressively.
