Post a Double eagle for my double eagle today.....

DoubleEagle59DoubleEagle59 Posts: 8,377 ✭✭✭✭✭
OT- golf related.

Today I aced the 291 yard par 4 hole #5 at Watsons Glen golf course in Ontario Canada.

Shot a 31 front but felt the pressure of a career round (last month 66) and scrambled to a 36 back for a 67 total. (should have been a 63 or 64).

That's takes care of the two possible double eagles on a golf course -- a 1 on a par 4 and a few years ago I had a 2 on a par 5.

Love those double eagles!!!

So post them if you've got them.

    Congrats on the HIO!

  • OY! No,but I watched Caddy Shack. I do play regularly with a $20 1861 gold Liberty that I cracked out of a PCGS genuine holder with filed rims. I enjoy playing with that coin more than I ever would getting a HIO!

Congratulations! This double eagle is from the final year of production at the Carson City Mint. The photography is by Todd (BluCC).

  • I'd have to dig one out of the safe and photograph it. By the time I got that done this thread would be gone. Good excuse right?

I do have a photo of a 1 oz Buff I'll post below. I don't think it is officially a double eagle though it is a similar size.

BTW congrats of your game. Just let that pressure breeze on by. You will improve your career game eventually. Don't stress over will it be today or next month... just keep remembering how nice double eagles are. image

I have been playing golf for 20 years and have yet to make a hole in one or a double eagle. I have made a couple eagles this year and shot 33 on a front 9 only to follow up with a 43 on the back. image

Edited to add: I also have never had any double eagles made of gold either

Nice work! I lipped an eagle when I was 13. 18 years later I'm still hoping for my first eagle, let alone double. Maybe this weekend, between holes 1 thru 5 before the true purpose of my golf companions and purpose show up.
  • TennesseeDave: you said: <<Edited to add: I also have never had any double eagles made of gold either>>

I think you have to remedy the 2nd before you accomplish the first. I'm sure there are plenty of examples to be had around here. image Buy a double eagle. Keep it in your pocket when playing. Relax, become at one with the world. Shoot your eagle. Yup, you can do it! image

That is impressive! Coincidentally, I got my first eagle in a few years [other than my first hole in one last year] today. Drove a 330 yd par 4 and made the 6 footer
