You talk about a real deal

Went to a coin show yesterday and you talk about a dealer trying to rip people off.He had some rolls of 1960-d large date lincolns,,he wanted $12.00 a roll.I told him that Numismatic news price was around $1.60 a roll and his was reply was that their price guide was way off..Is that true or not.Told him to keep them..
1961-d rolls he wanted $8.00 a roll

Why confront and say anything at all?
Best to simply just pass, smile- and walk away.

    I know the feeling.
Paid $20. for a jack and coke in Vegas a few weeks ago and felt equally ripped off.

You could have had a bottle of water for $6. You might have felt better about it.

It's too bad there's not a "1stdibs" website for coins like the one for decorative arts and antique furniture. Ask is 4X market value.
    Just business nowadays.

He can charge what he wants.

He can also complain that it's a crappy show because no one is buying anything.

A year later, he can wonder why he still has the roll in his inventory.

Then cut Numismatic News a check for $1.60. Anybody can ask any price they want for anything they want to sell so if you don't like the price the best thing to do is to move on and find another dealer.
