I mainly specialize in paper money but the coin bug is starting to catch on...... here's two newps that I'm very pleased with.
I haven't gotten the hang of grading coins yet so I trying to protect myself by buying slabs (yes yes.....I know the saying 'buy the coin and not the holder' but in my case the holder is my only security net). However the George VI I bought is raw.... can anyone kindly lend their expertise and tell me what you believe that grade is on it?
Thanks.... now on to the newps!
1950 No Design (according to seller... I can't really tell by pics...lucky seller has return policy)

Looks to me like the more common 'design' 1950 half.
Grade looks XF, possible AU...no way MS.
Here's a pic I took from Ebay showing the 'no design' half.......

<< <i>Congratulations on your foray into the world of Canadian coins. There are a lot of smart and knowledgeable people here who can help you with your proposed new purchases, so that you can avoid coins with problems. Pick our brains and buy the book, as they say.
I like the look of the 1903 ten cents. If that's the one that has been on eBay for about the last 4 years I'm glad to see that someone finally bought it. I had it on my watch list off and on for ages but I could never bring myself to purchase it. A set of Edward VII ten cent pieces in that grade would be a real challenge! >>
Thanks for the encouragement. Being located in Toronto, Canada does give me very good access to Canadian Numismatic materials and I do already have all the Charlton catalogues. I try to attend all major shows in the area but have really kept myself within the realm of Paper Money (Canadian and most recently US Notes as well)... but looks like im also crossing over into coins too... lols at my wallet that is in tears
Here's a couple other pickups tonight.... both are shown below raw, however they are already in an ICCS Holders
ICCS 1907 50 Cent AU50
ICCS 1909 50 Cent VF-30
