Oregon Trail newp

I spotted this beauty on Collector's Corner and I knew it would be mine. I have to say I never heared of disruptek but I will be watching them now. I received it Tuesday and shipped it off to Bob Campbell on Wednesday to work his magic. The 39s have a satin finish and this coin just shimmers in hand. As you tilt it there is a kaleidoscope of colors that blast out of the black toning. This is an amazing coin. Thank you so much Andy Davidoff and Mary Herzog at disruptek.

My buddy Bob just sent me another pic that brings it up a little better. In Bob's words, "This coin is a brute."

Congrat's Mr. Curly! Andy is a great seller.

Enjoy! Putting a set of these together with color in high grade is not as easy as one would think.

interesting example of a sweetly designed coin there curly
    one question though
if you acquired that from "disruptek"...why any need for any other image work
that cat is notorious for "perfection in imaging of coins"
do you have or a link to his image?

I don't find the toning attractive, and the spot in front of the Indians nose is distracting.

Neat! I haven't seen tab toning on an Oregon since the 1938 PDS set I purchased on behalf of my uncle in ~1982....came with the original 3-coin cardboard holder.....IIRC, the toning was a medium-deep wine color in the same pattern as Curly's.

I think I'd have to see that one in hand before I could make a decision on the toning. It has an interesting look though - probably one of those coins that photos never do justice. Agree on the seller - he has nice stuff!

I reaffirm my original thought. Wow, interesting toning. I like how the gold offsets what looks like black toning, but upon further examination and light, turns into an array of colors. I have a couple rocks that look black in most light, but when tilted, lit correctly almost explode with color. I think is one of those and most certainly one that would need to be held in hand to gain a full appreciation for.
