Grade this Morgan

This is an 1879-O Morgan that is in a PCGS Holder.

What grade would you give this coin?

  • So Far a guess of

    MS63 & AU58

    That is a big price difference.

    AU58 = $40-50
    MS63 = $200

    PCGS says AU58, but it's way underrated, definitely a MS coin.

    Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

    You are correct this is a PCGS AU58. This is also the first 1879-O AU58 to be CAC'd.

  • The best thing about this coin being graded in AU58 was I purchased it for $43 dollars off of ebay.

    In my Morgan set, I have 3-4 coins that are just like this one.

    Later, I will post two coins that were graded the same day. Same Year, same Mint, same everything.

    One coin graded MS62 and the other AU58.

    I won't put the cert number on those. I cannot tell the difference, but I am a novice at grading coins. And saying Novice is an understatement. I am really terrible at grading.
