Master Lists --- Do We Need a ""Stolen Coins"" Master List Thread??

I'm not even sure if PCGS would approve, but I thought I'd ask the masses if such a thing would even be useful to the community.

One thread with all the stolen coin info in it.

Separate threads could still be posted, and in that case the Master Thread would be updated and a link to the separate thread would be added.

I'd think if a master list would be created a police report and police contact info would be required for addition, and everyone involved would have to follow up with removal info.

I think it's a great tool to finding lost/stolen coins. I'm sure almost every show is frequented by at least one or more members and if attendees remember to print out the list before the show then they can keep their eyes peeled for any of the coins perhaps resting in dealers' cases.

Well at least the crooks would know which coins needed to be cracked out before selling that way if certification numbers were listed in one place.image

They already get posted, but it would ake it less work for them.

I'd post and link/list photos** as well. (**not as effective for recently minted modern coins, but that's life.)

There used to be a LOST & FOUND, but someone crossed out the sign and wrote : "Need a penny, Take a penny". And that was the end of that.
