Moon Money

I keep hearing about this currency, but as yet I haven't been able to aquire any.
I plan to start a collection as soon as I find some. I'll be watching the registry to see when they have the sets up and running. Wish me luck on my endeavor.

"Moon Money" is a slang term indicating paying well above market value for a coin. "Wow!!! He paid moon money for that coin!!!"

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

My alternate definition of "moon money" is any $1000 bill in very high grade CU condition, graded and holdered, of course. I really want a $1000 bill but paying $4000+ just seems so "moon money"ish.

Could a person reasonably hope to ever recover this type of expenditure?

Here ya' go. FWIW IMO it should be worth somewhere in the $20,000 - $50,000 range. More than a few of us that track this field think this is a bogus sale...

Wow now that's a pricey piece of paper currency. Makes my CU $1000 dream bills look like a bargain.

It all sort of questions the "letter of authenticity" concept. Is there a good way to authenticate these letters and certificates of authenticity?

    Let the buyer beware, indeed.
