J B Longacre engraving of Washington

This is sort of off topic, but it is a question about the work of J B Longacre's engraving work before he became Chief Engraver for the US Mint in 1844.

Apparently, he did portrait engravings- specifically one of George Washington from a painting done by Stuart. I found one and it looks great, but I suspect this may have been reprinted at several times. The paper looks old- without question well prior to 1900 and may date back to the 1830-1840 time frame.

Does anyone know much about Longacre's portrait engraving works?

    All these Mint guys did a lot of portrait engravings. Gobrecht did three different ones of Washington. In general they are neat but not really valuable. Now, if you find the copper plates used to actually make the impressions, you are on to something image
