found out the seller had no feedback since 2007 and I just sent him $270 via Paypal.

I was thinking maybe the account was hijacked ...........

I figure oh well, I hear ebay / paypal has a great buyer protection policy so no worries

.......

Today the mail comes with my PCGS 2000 Sac MS64 with a 85 degree Rotated Reverse Mint Error.

Boy do I love ebay.

And thank you to a great seller.

    good to hear.

i have an inordinately high amount of buyers that haven't purchased things in months/years come buy 1 thing from me never to be heard from again.

i am thankful and mystified simultaneously

I went over a year without buying anything on ebay even though I've been a member since 1999. But I do understand your concern.

I bought a graded Platinum 1/10 oz a few weeks back from a seller that had not listed an item since 2004. I won it pretty cheap something like $157 and thought the same as you. I was a little worried due to the low price and the tracking would not show as it was received by USPS. Then a few days latter it showed up in a white envelope with delivery confirmation on it. I thought my god a graded coin in a regular white envelope?

My guy did not do the tracking thing which was my second red flag.

That said, he probably doesn't sell all that much and besides the coin he sent me was a FANTASTIC example, near Perfect rotation (which was not even shown in the photo).

I think I got a great deal, because of the high starting price, lack of rotation photo, and no biz since 07.

It was in PCGS plastic so I did by the plastic image

Sellers with little or old feedback are sometimes the best bargains because of the buyers that avoid them. Red flags can work for the buyer as long as buyer protection is in place.
