Early Americas Box of 20

I was holding my breath for the new Colonial Coins sub forum but could not hold it any longer. I have been having a lot of fun with the Showcase section of the PCGS Registry, and here is my latest creation:

It's a great coin!
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
That Hain PTS remains one of my favorite coins!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Nice contents in box
In an area so diverse, how did you select the contents?
Do you have a grand scheme or simply looking for opportunities?
Is this the beginning of boxes and boxes?
<< <i>I understand these coins were theoretically present in pre 1857 America but I think your state coin representation is too limited. >>
Pre-1820s the amount of US coins in circulation in the states was most likely less than all the other coins in the set posted by RYK. Maybe even as late as 1850s.
Really digging the set and the 1768 pillar, specifically.

CRO would love to get these in their inventory!

<< <i>Nice BoXX! Did the Italian zecchin actually see any use in the Americas, or is it just too cool to have passed up? >>
The Zecchin, which sounds more like an Italian pastry than a coin, was authorized by Congress in 1776 for use in the U.S. That's good enough for me.
I understand these coins were theoretically present in pre 1857 America but I think your state coin representation is too limited.
That is a legitimate point, but, with the exception of the iconic Fugio cent, I have generally avoided copper. This may or may not change in the future.

1. I buy what coins I like and are made available to me. I am trying to have a reasonable diversity of size, country, metal, and design.
2. See #1
3. I hope not, but, if I continue in this direction, it might. I could foresee I separation of the true US colonial issues (Pine trees, Fugios, and the like) from the foreign coins circulating in the early US

Some day, they might.

Let me know when you get tired of it. Nice coin!

Foreign coins struck in the early US? They would fit into a matchbox, with room to spare.

I'm jealous. Love the clashing on the Fugio.
That is a wonderful set of diverse coins. Tons of history.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

I don't think state coppers (mainly produced in the northeast during the 1780s) saw much use outside of their home region after about 1820, particularly in the western expansion areas.
This website has links to maps by decade that provide a snapshot of the growth of the US.
