Top of my list would PCGS repealing the need to submit pre-1955 world coins through Secure Plus. I have been preparing a bunch of raw Canadian coins, along with some crossovers, to send to my top choice- PCGS. But given this added cost, I have to seriously consider getting my coins graded by someone else. Either in poor quality soft flip holders, or by one of two companies that do hard slabs, but aren't nearly as well respected in the marketplce (for Canadian coins in particular).
The 1955 secure plus for ALL World Coins coins is worhty of a second look- this has been discussed on another thread, but its worthy of further discussion

Let me elaborate a bit more on this subject. Maybe I should have asked my question differently, but I would like to see an independent company outside of PCGS or NGC looking at coins to see whether or not they are a) accurately graded and b) original.
Many world coins that I have seem do not match one or both of these two characteristics. With cleaning still accepted by many European numismatists I see a big problem in the future with both PCGS and NGC expanding in Europe right now. I'd like to see an additional confirmation that the coins I purchased have not been messed with. Kind of what CAC does with American coinage right now. I've seen plenty of world coins in PCGS and NGC holders which have been cleaned or otherwise messed with. Fine that it is acceptable in Europe, but I don't want such coins and am willing to pay a strong premium for original coins.
As for the subject re: secureplus on pre-1955 world coins, I believe that it is a policy which will do more bad than good to PCGS. I'm not going too deep into the subject but on many scarcer high-grade coins from the early 1950s (which are still often very affordable) it is just no longer feasible to send them to PCGS because of this.
It is a worthy idea, but taking a closer look makes it impractical. CAC makes most of their profit by making markets on their stickered coins, not on their sticker fee. World coin markets in the U.S. tend to be too thin for a market maker to offer a standing bid/ask to make much money. Stickering world coins requires many more experts on call, and likely means much longer turn around times waiting for experts to have time to do the task. The bottom line is a lot more work for very little return, which means it isn't likely to happen.
Although I collect certified world coins, I couldn't care less if they ever get CAC stickers. I admit that the green bean does in many cases make resale easier and may increase prices. But I buy the coin, not the slab, and resale is not really on my mind at this time.
If I'm correct their are a large number of foreign collectors like those in Europe that don't even slab their coins so CAC wouldn't work their. However due to chinese counterfeits, one day most may have to slab their coins to make sure of its authenticity. When that happens we will see if CAC is even around

I honestly don't see what pain point is being solved by a sticker and I would be unwilling to pay for it. SecurePlus is supposed to help with the question about authenticity.
Dennis88, your point in your last paragraph of your second post is well taken. I sent a big submission in just before the new World Coin SecurePlus policy was enforced and have only submitted a crossover special since (which was cheap - didn't have to pay for the ones that DNC). I do have some free registry gradings plus my 8 gradings from the membership renewal coming up, and I will certainly submit those, but the extra $7 per coin for regular submissions pretty much prices me out of the market, especially for any British coins 1911-1955. My George V registry sets may never be completed now.
I think it is a matter of time before CAC does World - I cant wait until it does.
There are huge speads in quality in certain grades for foreign coins - I.E. AU50, AU58, MS61,2,3,4,5 and many others. Many AU58 coins can go from a super clean once MS65 coin with a little rub to a chattered-up once MS61 coin with lots of ugly hairlines.
Wow, what would give them expertise to "bean" world coins?
A bean is just that, a bean, and does NOT guarantee the authority or level of expertise of the person "granting" it. I do not favor it. I have to say that on occasion major TPGs, even with their likely greater resources struggle to grade many world issues.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.
It seems like we have reached the stage where the coin doesn't even matter. If you can get a slab with a * or + by the grade and a green or even better gold sticker on it, why mess all that up with a nasty old coin?

The reason for the stickers and stars are probably for resale anyway, so that should show us how dependent upon others for grading that many collectors have become. I've always been the type who doesn't want to have to count on someone else for help, and the fact that collecting to me is fun and relatively stress-free, I just have no use for all of that other stuff.

Well, OK, maybe a tiny bit more than the orange house thing.
But not much.
