No AW 1945P WLH.

Just looked this up in the CPG 4th Edition Vol. 4, hey I have the same thing.
Bought at a flee market 2 weeks ago and had no idea till I went through the roll when I returned home.
I yelled, "no AW", my father said, "Who's AW?" I reply, "Aldolph Weinman the designer of the WLH". My father isn't a coin guy.
Anyway bought a couple rolls and noticed right off the bat that his initials were missing. It may not be a blazing Unc. with monster color but for $10, I'm not complaining. These are quick freehand pics, I'm guessing it's AU. What do you say? There is no trace of anything where the initials should be. Thanks for any info. There is so much to take in regarding varietys n errors.

That is definitely the No AW variety, congrats on a nice find!

It probably isn't as rare as indicated in the CPG, but it is tough to find.

For some reason, the WLH No AW halves aren't that popular, which is unfortunate, because they are cool varieties.

Nice find. Looks like a nice XF45 to AU50 to me, but I'm not a Walker guy.

I knew they existed, now I will look closely at any 45P WLH I stumble across.
Another variety that is saved on my internal hard drive between my ears image
It's the only year list in my CPG, are there other no AW years and MM's?
Will also keep an eye out for 44D hand engraved initials, interesting piece. I will take a closer look at
all my WLH's. There may be a 46P DDR waiting to be discovered or a 36P DDO.
    Expansion of knowledge is empowering,

From memory, there are other No AW years: 1918-D, 1929-S, 1941 Proof, 1943, 1943-S, and I think 1945-S.
