Hmmmmmm,
bob
i think when people send messages to someone we would like to report as selling a counterfeit knowingly or not it prevents us from reporting an "active" listing violating policy and doing so illegally.
ebay stated they track the amount of reports sellers get so it is in our best interest to just report the sellers and not mess with them no matter how much fun it is
it may be a strong comparison but when the fbi go on a stakeout to take someone down they don't point fingers at the criminals and laugh at them, ya know tipping the hat and all
good job bringing the coin/seller to our attention michiganboy

for educational purposes, are ALL 1840 seated dollar rims mostly flat when connecting to the dentils?
i see the one in questing has quite a "ledge" or raised rim to the dentils
also the stars look wrong
.
reported dozens of times by me and they are still in business. How many "strikes" must
you get?
bob
PS: This seller does not normally sell coins, was very cooperative and removed the coin
voluntarily. The report still goes to Ebay and the "strike" will still get posted to that list
you speak about.

i truly wondered about this and believe what you say which almost makes one not want to even report.

The reverse should have a wider rim and this counterfeit has one that is very small, I see this a lot on counterfeit seated $'s with small uneven rims with detached denticles.

<< <i>it looked like pot metal to boot. >>
It was non magnetic which would rule out most pot metals that are used to make coins.
