BBCE will have 75 racks at National

I have a feeling these won't last long. Maybe CpaMike and I can talk a few people out of opening. image

I am excited to see what else they have been sitting on.

NATIONAL UPDATE - BBCE will have 1975 Topps Baseball rack packs at the booth! With 42 cards per rack, there are a lot of chances to pull a gem mint Brett, Yount, Carter, Ryan, Aaron, or possibly a low pop common. Open it at the booth so we can all share in the excitement!

Since we're going to have a huge booth in the corporate area, we're going to bring more product than ever before. As for the items we've been saving for the past several weeks, we won't have them priced until the week of the National, but you can be sure they will be priced right as always.

I'm sure they'll be gone before I arrive Thursday P.M. Can only hope they have a lot more material to carry through the weekend. No matter what it will be great to find out how the rip went! See you in Baltimore. image

Do you have any 1988 or 1989 Maxx racing to bring to the National?

    Thanks,

As if I wasn't bummed enough about not going.

Reed, any chance for a mercy sale of one or two racks? I just bought a bunch of the 75 wax and had to have my fiancé hide them so I didnt tear right in.

Anyone going want to be a gem and proxy buy a few for me? I'll pay a deposit upfront.

    Best,
    A Sad Racker

Mike, did you read the announcement carefully? It says open the rack at the booth, not put it under your pillow at the hotel room, LOL..

I'd tell them that I intend to open it until I get it, then I'll run for the exit.

I wouldn't put it under my pillow, anyway. It goes right in the safe. image

Steve calls the shots; I just post the news. We've talked about trying to preserve as much as we can for the public, which means trying not to sell everything to dealers before the show opens. If we're priced right and it sells at what we have it listed, there's not much we can do. There will be some things we'll simply hold on to and not put them out until the show opens on Wednesday.

As far as trying to purchase items in advance, pre-sale, or selling stuff before the show starts, I don't think we're going to do any of that. It should be first come, first served, for those who can make it to the National. As I've seen it discussed here, there simply is not enough product (of anything) to satisfy demand, so we can never decide in an equitable fashion who gets first shot. We want to make a positive impression on everyone who visits our booth, both old and new customers. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't trying hard to convince every collector to make it to the National every year. This will be my 15th in a row. If we as collectors and dealers can't support the National with everything we've got, it too may one day fade away like almost every other card show.

In the meantime, I'll be posting updates on our Facebook page every few days about the awesome items we'll have at the National, just to get everyone worked up. Mantle PSA/DNA baseballs and 1975T BB racks are just the tip of the iceberg. I've been dying to tell people all the cool stuff we have planned, but need to space it out and milk it for all it's worth, right? While we may not be the biggest company, spend the most money, have the largest booth, or giveaway the best prizes, by the time the National winds down on August 5th, everyone will know BBCE.

BTW, I promised 1952T BB unopened pics when we reach 400 followers on Facebook - only need 31 more!

The National is like no other show. Thats the bottom line.

if you are a card collector, you deserve to go at least ONCE before you die.

Having 1975 Topps Rack Packs (among other items) is worth it's weight in advertising for the show. Nobody can blame you for holding back, but it was worth a try anyway! image

I will be at the BBCE booth bright and early. I can't wait to canvas the floor, buy a bunch of nice stuff and then sit down at the PSA booth and fill out my sub forms and then get up and repeat the process again and again....

So I hear the BBCE phone lines have been blowing up today, with collectors asking questions about what we're bringing to the National and how they can get an inside track on particular items. This of course, was not my intent when posting what we'll be bringing. I know, if you are unable to make it to the National, that it's unfortunate you'll be able to get a crack at some of this product, but really, there's nothing we can do. We're saving product for the show so that there's something left to see/marvel/drool over at our booth!

So, I will continue to post little hints about what we'll be bringing, but please, let's just leave it at that. The guys at the office are extremely busy, and they will say you'll just have to wait until the National to find out more. I don't know much more about the product either, as I don't work in the office, so I'm not much help either. If you'd rather I not post updates, I'm ok with that too, but I just figured many would like to know what we'll have in advance of the show.

For those who can't make it there on Wednesday, check with your fellow board members; they may be able to snag what you want for you.
