yardsellr refunded woohooo Fell for another scam---what would u do?
so this morning im just browsing yardsellr on facebook(my ex just bought a new looking armoire for $300.00 Havertys sells same for $1500.00 she caught it like 5 minutes after it was posted) i see a 1952 topps mantle in poor condition listed for $650 and guy says book is $1200-a quick search on ebay shows more like 3000-3500. with my exs deal in back of my head i looked at it as closely as i could and it looked legit so i pulled the trigger--i got to thinking about it so i checked his facebook acct and saw no problems but when i went back to the site he had the same card listed for $700.00 went to bank they said get everything documented. gotta wait till it goes thru and they will reimburse all but $35.00---after a few searing messages on his wall i took copies and pictures of everything and the bank said maybe he will cancel the sale--lol--hes a scammer i told them, but oh well--he still hasnt answered me back---i know probably 9 out of 10 on here wouldnt have fallen for this or admit it anyway--ive contacted yardsellr about it and im apparently in a qeue b4 they get to my case--anybody got any thoughts other than that i must b an idiot?

WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
Even though this reprint is based on the "B" version (there are 2 different 1952 Topps Mantles), with the line under logo, yellow showing at bottom on name panel, and the ball stitching pointing left (back).... the colors are off on front and the back is too bold, Mickey looks sunburned, and the L to R total border width is off on back as well (too narrow, use the borders on ea. side of top red box to compare), plus 1952 Topps cards when worn dont show pure white wear like this card does in corners. The print on back is too bold, the holes in letters are filled in (ie "A" in "BASEBALL" at bottom), and the black "PRDT IN USA" way too bold...
He might send it to you, dont know why he wouldnt as it only cost him like $2 (if that) for the screwdown and 5 minutes to doctor the fake card....
<< <i>What an annoying site. Went to yardsellr just to check it out and I can't because of the big "Log in with facebook" pop up in the middle of the screen that won't go away. Oh well... >>
Had the same problem. Anyhow. Here's a good resource for spotting a fake Mantle '52 Topps

That website won't help if the fake is printed from a scan of a legit card, and that's how most will be created. If this kid wants a 1952 Topps Mantle, he should save his allowance and then go to 707sportscards.com
Only an idiot would have a message board signature.

Probably not admit to it on a message board full of strangers so you can be easily mocked.
then i would hunt the criminal down with a bronze age spear.

You found a card probably worth a minimum of $3000, I assume more since you wouldn't have bought it if the condition wasn't nice. Seller willing to sell it for $650 on Scamlist and you weren't concerned?
Just when dealing with big cards like that you have to do some homework.
