Guess which auction site has just eliminated the buyer's fee?

Answer: DLRC.
I've always felt that the buyer's fee was unnecessary. It was either easy to calculate (and bidders would simply adjust accordingly), or it would be awkward for some (and potentially drive a small percentage of bidders away). The staggered buyer's fee, based on purchasing amount, was a real slap in the face of the modest players. That POSSIBLE extra 2.5% makes it VERY difficult to calculate how much to bid for those in the real world with an actual budget.
Nice job, Mr. Feigenbaum.

Edit to note that I do not mean any disrespect to them. I have actually bought from them and had excellent service. I just do not think much of that format they had.
<< <i>Might mean something if anyone really thought they had auctions. I was not in that club.
Yeah, it always looked like an FPL presentation massaged into an "auction" format.
Kinda like those "art auction" deals they have on cruise ships. Make a reasonable offer on the last day of the cruise and the supposed "auction" format will be all but forgotten.
i chose proof buffs.
here are the listings of those that end today:
current bid/buy it now
$1,430 / $1,487
$2,480 / $2,579
$1,500 / $1,560
These current bid prices all seem very close to the buyout, so I expect i won't be seeing these coins again next week, right?
oh yeah.
i will.
because this is not an auction site at all.
c'mon.
Has anyone here, in the last three years, consigned a coin to these so-called auctions?
In my experience the best auction companies are:
Heritage (for volume and diversity of material)
Stacks/Bowers (for quality and intellectual rigor)
Great Collections (for efficient, market-friendly, and cutting edge technology and customer service)
Teletrade (for a tried and true system that is designed to be collector friendly)

Nope....

I like the people, hate the site and format. I look only when bored out of my mind. MJ
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Not really seeing anything cutting edge there. By far the most primitive site of the ones listed.
Not recently, but within the last 7 years, I consigned coins to them for sale/auction, and they have always succeeded in selling them.
I bid in one of their auctions for CBH's and was successful on 4 coins, all of which have made profits( when re-sold) or are still in my collections.
They work hard, and correspond with status reoports frequently.
They do have high end coins on their site, from time to time, and I have always respected their honesty and straight-forwardness.
When I started collecting a few years ago I would check their site 2 times a week.I bought a few nice coins there but stopped because everything had a stating bid,but when you bid on a coin, they told you it didnt meet the minimum set price. It was frustrating and I e mailed them that they should just list the price I could bid or buy on and in reply, they thanked me for my interest.
