    Awesome cards Daniel. I have been working on a 71 set (my birth year) for 20 years. People who don't collect 71 topps do not understand how tough the 71 set is to get in NM or better.

    Thanks guys. My main collecting passion has always been hall of famers from the '50's - '70's. I love the '71s and have even started to put together a '71 Greatest Moments set (nothing too high grade and so far I just have like 10 of the easier cards).

    Anyway, I've pretty much stopped buying raw on eBay and picked up these PSA 7s over the past 6 months or so. You can get some high end PSA 7s with a little patience. I've also seen some pretty rough ones.

    My only knock on the black beauties was the move back to a "last season stats/career stats" format.

    Nice cards. PSA 7 1971s can be a real bargain but as you say you have to be careful. They can look like real dogs but if you find solid to high end 7s, they can be had for significantly less than a corresponding 8.

    Very nice cards.

    I think everyone likes the black border cards due to the rarity of really nice copies.
