I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "good for LVT!" He's having fun, with a low $ amount, and I think that is cool. He isn't spending his kid's food money and starving anyone, he isn't spending his entire monthly mortgage on a risky gamble, etc. The dude is "gambling" and having fun in a relatively very cheap way, and for some of us, it is fun to gamble with low limits and enjoy ourselves.
As to the original question, I did recently buy a small, modern Swedish coin from eBay in which the listing only showed one side. I found out why, when I received the coin and it had a dark spot at about 4:00 on the other side. Fortunately, it only cost me $1.59, so it was a cheap lesson. I am not too sure I would try that again, unless I had some prior knowledge of the seller and the quality of their typical offerings.
LVT, I sure hope your purchase turns out better than mine! The obverse of that Peace looks very nice.
I have Unc peace dollars that don't look that good , at 30 bucks delivered its a no lose proposition.I hope you find what your looking for on the other side Teddy , good luck.

You're taking a risk doing that.
As you know, TPGs grade coins by looking at both sides of the coin, with each side grading according to the appearance, and then an overall grade given to the coin based on both sides.
By purchasing a coin with only one side pictured, there's no telling how bad or good the other side is until you receive it and examine it in hand.
The obverse you are showing looks quite good, but the reverse could look atrocious.

I think it's a great pick. Not much downside to that one @ $30 delivered. I see it as a lock 64 on the Obv.

I don't bid unless the seller takes returns. In this case I'd be returning because item is not as described, not even the same date. In fact I think you are allowed to return it regardless of the seller's policy because the item is totally different from the description. Bad or ignorant sellers need to shape up or ship out.

I for one would not neg her over $30 and the wrong date sent, but would contact and see if the seller could not find the other coin or something along that line but for $30 who really cares. Thats the average cost of going out and doing anything small like just getting a bite to eat. At least he gets to keep the coin and not flush it down the toilet 8 hours later

The seller is no numismatist. I consider the buyer a friend. I am a dealer. Sending that coin to PCGS would benefit me as a shareholder, but I won't recommend that to my friends.
